'My try' with Spain's Matias Tudela
At last year's Gold Coast Sevens, Spain defeated England to lift the Bowl title in the opening round of the HSBC Sevens World Series.
Not only was it their first tournament as a core side, it was also their first-ever victory in the World Series against England.
Having been locked at 14-14 after normal time it was Matias Tudela, who came on as a second-half substitute, that secured the historic victory for the Spanish.
"It was a really tough game, Pedro Martin scored the first try," said Tudela.
"Then England scored two tries, and in the final minute Ignacio Martin scored to draw the game.
"The match went to extra time. We felt nervous but confident. I saw Pablo Feijoo break the line, it was a good run but I knew it wouldn't be enough and we have to make a good support.
"He got tackled at the 22, I received the ball from the ruck and I saw a gap so I knew I just had to run. It was amazing and really important to win that game."
Spain and England, who are both under different coaches from last season, meet in the pool stages this year at Skilled Park. We wonder which way this one will go...let us know @irbsevens!
