Tickets out for Series opener on Gold Coast
Tickets have gone on sale for the opening round of the HSBC Sevens World Series 2013/14, the Gold Coast Sevens on 12-13 October 2013.
For the third time the tournament will be held at Skilled Park and fans who purchase their tickets on Monday 9 September will be rewarded with an early bird discount of 20%.
The Australian Rugby Union also unveiled local girl, popstar Sophie Monk, as the event’s new ambassador.
Initially one part of the girlband Bardot having won through Australia's version of reality television series, Popstars, Monk has since gone on to establish a solo career in music, modelling and acting.
“Sevens is so much fun - it’s like they've created a version of Rugby for people like me with short attention spans!" he said.
“Watching the Rugby has always been a family affair. The Monks will be getting all dressed up for the Gold Coast Sevens this year.”

Once again the event is being supported by the Queensland Government as part of a growing calendar of sporting, cultural and regional events throughout the state.
“Rugby Sevens is a dynamic sport that forms part of the Gold Coast’s growing event calendar,” said Queensland Minister for Tourism and Major Events, Jann Stuckey.
“As a Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games sport, the Sevens festival provides residents with a taste of the world class sporting events and community festivals that the Gold Coast is renowned for.”
Tickets are available at various prices to cater for individuals, families and groups, for one day or both.
