Reaction from day one at the Adelaide Oval at Round 6 of the HSBC Sevens World Series.
Robbie Deans, Wallaby coach
"The thing about Sevens is that it's a fast track of 15s, it's got all the elements but without the clutter, if you like, so it's a great way for people to experience the Game who don't have a background in it, and it's also a great way for players to develop their ability to play and understand the funadementals of 15-a-side because your fundamentals get tested out here and if you don't master them, it bites you.
"Mic's (Michael O'Connor) doing a great job. He'll be a little frustrated this year but you look at the number of players who have been through the programme and it's not straightforward. He's a good thinker on the game, he's a good coach, he understands playing at this level and he's a great mentor for the players to have.
"There are always players who fit the mould of Sevens Rugby but who are a little in between when it comes to 15s and specialisation, so Sevens is another opportunity."
Iliesa Tanivula, Fiji coach
"All tough pool games with USA, Tonga and the ever-improving Australians - they scored first, they're a classy side and put pressure on us to come back and credit to the boys.
"It gets tougher from here, South Africa are improving and we've got to take each game as it comes. The pitch is pretty firm and we've got to try and create our own luck, make our opportunities and take them."
Stephen Betham, Samoa coach (Defending Adelaide champions)
"We won here last year. The Samoan fans were out again today and hopefully we can give them something back in the end.
"I thought we played well in patches but we went off the boil a bit against South Africa. They came back hard at us and we have to work through that tomorrow. It is do or die tomorrow.
"We have to get through the quarters and semis and then we will see if we can defend it."
Ben Ryan, England coach
"It's (Adelaide) been a bit of a graveyard for England teams over the past five years or so, so that's good, we played with a lot of energy in the first two games and racked up some big scores in our first two games and then Argentina are a good side, they've been unlucky three times against us if I'm honest.
"We didn't have a lot of depth in the squad (before) and the guys who have done well here today hardly played in Hong Kong. Nick Royle has got eight tries, Tom Powell, Dan Caprice, John Brake all did well so we're sharing the workload.
"I think we're playing Wales now, who have a lot of balance to their team with Kristian Phillips and pace out wide and that allows them to play the gameplan that they've used today, but if we can win the next three games then we know we're going to London with a serious tilt."
