Defending USA Sevens champions lost to Fiji in the third place play-off

All the action from the 2012 USA Sevens at the Sam Boyd Stadium in Las Vegas, the fifth round of the HSBC Sevens World Series.


14:55 - Samoa are champions in Las Vegas! They beat New Zealand 26-19 in a pulsating final at the Sam Boyd Stadium in the Cup final

14:42 - Half time and Samoa lead 14-5....

14:26 - Time for the Cup final between New Zealand and Samoa. 

14:24 - And Fiji avenge the defeat they suffered in the final last year by beating South Africa 21-15 in Match 44

14:16 - A repeat of last year's final taking place in this third place play-off. 

14:12 - Two more matches remaining, including the third place play-off which sees Fiji leading South Africa 14-10 after the first seven minutes.

13:55 - Kenya score the only tries of the second half to beat Argentina 21-7 in the Plate final

13:43 - Kenya score with the last play of the first half to draw level with Argentina, 7-7, in the final of the Plate. Just two matches remain after this at the USA Sevens.

13:23 - A late Sean Duke try gives Canada a dramatic 19-17 victory against Australia in the Bowl

13:13 - Australia are 10-7 in front against Canada in the Bowl final. 

12:58 - France beat Scotland 22-7 in the Shield final

12:48 - We are back up and running in the men's competition and France lead Scotland 10-7 in the final of the Shield at half time. 

12:37 - Canada lift the women's trophy after beating USA 14-5. 

12:27 - Canada leading USA 7-5 at the interval in the final of the women's competition

12:23 - Women's final currently being played on the main pitch ahead of the men's finals. Canada leading USA 7-0.

12:15 - Samoa have other ideas and convert both of their second half tries to win 14-12 against Fiji in Match 40 and reach their first Cup final of the season, and first since the 2010 Dubai Sevens.  

12:06 - We are currently on course for a repeat of last week's Cup final as Fiji lead Samoa 12-0 at the break in the second Cup semi. 

11:54 - So the defending USA Sevens champions South Africa are knocked out by New Zealand who progress to the Cup final after a 20-7 victory in Match 39

11:43 - Defending Series champions New Zealand currently beating defending USA Sevens champions South Africa 15-0. 

11:28 - Kenya book their place in the Plate final, defeating reigning RWC Sevens champions Wales 24-14 in Match 38

10:45 - Canada will meet Australia in the Bowl final after beating Japan 21-5 in their semi final

19:16 - Fiji beat Wales 12-5 in Match 32 and set up an enthralling semi with Samoa. 

19:06 - Wales lead Fiji 5-0 at the break in the day's final match. 

18:55 - Alafoti Faosiliva scored a hat trick as Samoa beat Kenya 19-14 in Match 31 to join New Zealand and South Africa in the Cup semis.

18:45 - Samoa score on the stroke of half time to hold a 14-7 lead against Kenya.

18:35 - Two of the crowd's favourite teams compete in the third quarter final. Kenya v Samoa...

18:33 - Defending champions South Africa book their place in the Cup semis after beating Argentina  24-5 in Match 30.

18:23 - South Africa hold a 14-0 lead over Argentina after the first seven minutes in the second Cup quarter. 

18:12 - Tomasi Cama's try gives New Zealand an eventual 12-7 victory against England in Match 29.

17:39 - In the fourth and final Bowl quarter final Canada take a 17-0 lead into the break against Uruguay. 

17:28 - Japan beat Scotland to progress to the Bowl semis after a 15-14 victory in Match 27. 

17:18 - Scotland come from 10-0 behind to lead Japan 14-10 after the first seven minutes in the third Bowl quarter final. 

17:07 - USA record their first victory at their home tournament, beating France 21-5 in Match 26

16:57 - Zach Test scores his third try of the weekend to give USA a 7-5 lead against France at half time. 

16:44 - In the first Bowl quarter final Australia book their place in the semis after a 50-0 victory against Brazil.

16:34 - Australia hold a 24-0 lead against Brazil in the first Bowl quarter final at the break.

15:47 - Canada beat France 21-12 in the second semi final in the women's competition

15:40 - The Cup quarters in the men's have been decided. New Zealand face England, South Africa will play Argentina, Kenya meet Samoa and Fiji await Wales.

15:27 - USA have beaten the Netherlands 17-5 in the women's Cup semi final

15:03 - The first Bowl quarter final will take place at 16:24 when Australia meet Brazil.

14:36 - Defending Series champions New Zealand overturn a 5-0 deficit against Samoa to win 12-5 in Match 23 and top Pool A.

21:28 - And the defending Series champions New Zealand score three more tries to beat Japan 42-5 in Match 15.

21:18 - New Zealand head into the break of the penultimate match of day one with a 21-0 lead against Japan. 

21:06 - England beat Scotland 12-7 with the last play of Match 14 as Christian Lewis-Pratt dives over the line with England reduced to six men after Norton is sent off. 

20:55 - Dan Norton's fourth try of day one is enough to give England a 7-0 lead at half time against the Auld Enemy Scotland. 

20:46 - Collins Injera scores a hat-trick for Kenya in a 38-0 victory against Brazil in Match 13

20:32 - Kenya go into the break with a 24-0 lead against Brazil.

20:21 - Cecil Afrika scores three more tries for defending champions South Africa in their 29-12 victory against Wales in Match 12

20:10 - South Africa hold a 12-7 lead against Wales at the break.
