Dere names two teams for Uprising Sevens

Fiji Sevens head coach, Alivereti Dere, has named two teams to participate in this weekend's Uprising Fiji International Sevens in Lautoka.
The two teams are made up of the 21 member squad currently in camp ahead of the fourth round of the HSBC Sevens World Series in New Zealand.
Dere included an additional three players, Apisai Domolailai, Inia Tukere and Leone Tabuarua, to complete the Fiji Warriors team.
“We intend to work on the player’s individual roles, their combinations, set pieces and the game patterns," said Dere, who will use this tournament as preparation for the next round of the Series.
"Following this tournament we will select the 16 players from these two teams, that will play for Fiji at the Wellington 7s”.
Fiji currently sit third in the overall standings with 44 points, two behind France (46) and 16 behind leaders New Zealand (60). They will face matches with Portugal, Scotland and Australia in Wellington.
Ahead of the Uprising Sevens however, the team has been going through tough training sessions since they joined camp, and according to trainer Maxwell Hughes, the boys were adapting well to their training sessions.
“I have the big task of getting these boys fit and ready for the upcoming tournaments," added Hughes.
"All the boys are equally strong and fit. It is my job to build them up on their endurance and mental toughness and make sure that they maintain that level before and during the tournaments.
“They have had a full load of training this week in the gym and out on the field and have adapted well and are getting to know each other well on and off the field.”
