Argentina Sevens name squad for Asia tour
Argentina coach Santiago Gomez Cora has announced his squad of 12 to compete at rounds six and seven of the HSBC Sevens World Series.
The Pumas won gold at the ODESUR multisport games in Santiago, Chile last weekend and have shown renewed vigour this season under the former flyer.
They have so far reached four Cup quarter-finals and one semi-final and currently sit seventh in the Series table heading into the Tokyo Sevens on 22-23 March and the Cathay Pacific / HSBC Hong Kong Sevens on 28-30 March.
In Tokyo the Argentines face second-ranked South Africa, Kenya and the hosts Japan and Gomez Cora recalls six players from the last rounds in Vegas and Wellington - Santiago Álvarez, Martín Chiappesoni, Lucas De Vicenzi, Joaquín Paz, Diego Palma and Gastón Revol - but there is a major loss in usual captain, Nicolas Bruzzone.
