Two weeks out from the Emirates Airline Glasgow Sevens, HSBC ambassador and Scottish rugby legend Hastings accompanied the trophy to HSBC’s Buchanan Street branch, as well as to the Scotstoun Stadium itself.
“Today has been fantastic in Glasgow. As a big fan of Rugby Sevens myself I am honoured to be able to accompany this highly sought after trophy to meet other fans across Scotland in the build-up to the Glasgow Sevens," said Hastings.
Scotland's home round of the Series is set to be a crucial showdown for coach Stephen Gemmell and his side.
At the final round of the Series, the Marriott London Sevens on 11-12 May, the core teams ranked 13th, 14th and 15th after Glasgow will play off with Asian champions Hong Kong, Russia, Zimbabwe, Tonga and Georgia for three available core team places next season.

“I’ve really enjoyed seeing people come out to catch a glimpse of the trophy today and I hope all my fellow Scots get behind the Scotland Sevens team in Glasgow, which is a crucial tournament for the side in the overall HSBC Sevens World Series standings,” added Hastings.
