Pablo Matera will join the Argentina Sevens squad for rounds two and three of the HSBC Sevens World Series

Pablo Matera has been included in the Argentina Sevens squad set to travel to Dubai and South Africa for rounds two and three of the 2012/13 HSBC Sevens World Series.

Matera was a key player for Argentina at the 2012 Junior World Championship in South Africa, helping them to a best-ever fourth placed position and scoring a crucial try in their pool match with Australia.

The flanker effectively replaces Santiago Cordero, another JWC 2012 star who has been called up to the Pumas squad after impressing at the Gold Coast Sevens in October.

Andres Romagnoli's side sit fifth overall in the World Series standings on 13 points having beaten France in the Plate final in Australia following a narrow 12-7 defeat to New Zealand in the Cup quarters.

They will face Gordon Tietjens' side again in the pool stages in Dubai, as well as Wales, a side they beat 17-5 in Pool D at Skilled Park in a repeat of the 2009 Rugby World Cup Sevens final, and Russia, the only non-core side at the tournament.
